We are looking to recruit talented immersive character performers with an ability to implement scare in their performances for The Nightmare Realm haunt mazes and scare zones. 

Our immersive attraction performers must be highly motivated with exceptional physical stamina and dedication to exemplary standards of guest interaction. We have various performing opportunities which we are recruiting for, including scare, scripted characters, immersive entertainment, street theater, circus and dancing roles which will bring our award winning event to life!

You will be required to attend an audition at The Nightmare Realm so please ensure you bring your enthusiasm, high levels of energy and a desire to create exceptional guest interactions at every opportunity! Our immersive attraction characters are as demanding as they are fulfilling, and we are looking for versatile and resilient performers who are ready to rise to the challenge. Due to the nature of this role, we will only be accepting applications from those candidates who are aged 16 or over. (All of our full-time immersive attraction performers will be expected to work evenings, weekends and evenings as dictated by our operational calendar).

This is a guest facing role so you must be confident and willing to interact with our guests at every available opportunity. This role will include working weekends, evenings, and bank holidays.

No experience is needed for acting roles as we give full Scare tactics training.  

REQUIREMENTS– male and females of all body types and sizes, to be in good physical health given the maze houses are physically demanding spaces to work in. Good stamina and mental endurance. Experience in scare acting is a bonus but absolutely NOT necessary.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR– People who LOVE to scare. Big personality, someone who is outgoing, confident, willing to take instruction, not take themselves too seriously, who are responsible and reliable, be able to work in a group dynamic, talented, versatile and enthusiastic. Divas need not apply. 

PERFORMANCE SPACE INCLUDES – almost complete darkness, tight spaces, strobe lighting, loud and disturbing audio, smoke and fog effects, hydraulics, indoor and outdoor all weather conditions, cold and warm settings.

Stilt-Walkers
Aerial hoop or silks artists
Dancers / pole / burlesque
Bodybuilders
Parkour
Fire Performance
Gymnasts and/or Contortionists
Circus Performances

Where applicable the above acts must have own insurance

SPECIAL EFFECT MAKEUP TRIALS

We are also holding spaces for make-up artist trials to assist with our multi talented SPFX team for this year’s Nightmare Realm. Please bring with you your makeup kit, a model to work on and any relevant body of work to our auditions. You will be asked to create two looks of your choosing within an hour.

STEWARDS INTERVIEWS

Interviews for paid steward positions will be held at The Lab on the same day at 6pm-9pm. Please wear casual business attire and have a C.V with a headshot attached.

AMBASSADOR PROGRAM INTERVIEWS

Potential Nightmare Realm Ambassadors called to the interviews should dress in casual attire and have all required documents asked for. If you have not applied and want to be part of our Nightmare Realm Ambassador program, please send your email to sylvia@thenightmarerealm.ie before the interview date.

We hold our annual Scare Workshop/Auditions/Makeup Trials and Interviews on the 26th of August 2022 at The LAB Gallery on Foley Street from 6pm to 9pm.

INFO FOR THE AUDITIONS:

Acting workshops begin at 6pm-9pm, please arrive on time.
Makeup auditions start at 6pm-7pm.
Steward interviews are from 6pm-7pm
Auditions are in groups of 8, steward interviews are 1 on 1. SFX is a group trial.
Over 16’s only – you must be 16 by October 1st to apply.
No Costume and make-up needed
Wear comfortable clothes.
Move outside your comfort zone, be confident and don’t hold back!
We want to get to know who you are, tell us about yourself and make it memorable!
All positions are paid positions and all need commitment for the month of October
You will fill out an application and have your headshot taken at the workshop.

Paid roles start @ €11.50/hr for new Realm actors and stewards

MUA paid roles are between €14-18/hr depending on experience.
